Search Ads: Basic vs Advanced vs Pro

Apple Search Ads are a go-to for any developer looking to gain exposure in the App Store. Search Ads have proven to be a reliable source of installs via Search, or Display placements. With more and more users accessing the App Store on a daily basis, it’s easier than ever to get in front of the right customers.

Let’s check out the differences between the Basic and Advanced options and then explore how you can take your efforts to the next level, beyond Advanced.

Search Ads Basic:

Search Ads Basic is a good fit for developers with small budgets, those that don’t need advanced features, are just testing the platform, or don’t have time to actively manage campaigns. It’s simple to set up and allows you to target potential customers without needing to define keywords. With Basic, you can quickly increase your visibility in relevant search results. However, it does have its limitations, especially when it comes to fine-tuning your campaigns for maximum effectiveness.

Search Ads Advanced:

Apple Search Ads Advanced provides more comprehensive control over your ads, by introducing keyword targeting, target audiences and bidding management. Advanced allows you to select specific keywords and audiences, charging you for each tap on your ad vs each install. This would be ideal for higher spending developers, those that have the time, and ability, to manage their own campaigns and define keywords. Advanced provides far more metrics and reporting vs Basic, to help better understand your advertising efforts.

Search Ads “Pro”:

Apple Search Ads is an excellent tool for advertisers, but still has various shortcomings, even with the Advanced version. While Advanced does require a bit more know-how to navigate effectively, the shortcomings start to show themselves as the default Apple dashboard offers no downstream clarity, no automation capabilities, MMP metrics (performance metrics) and is difficult to bulk manage.

This is where we come in with our Apple Search Ads Management service. Our team of experts can help set up and manage your Apple Search Ads campaigns by implementing high-level customized strategies, creating Custom Product Pages and utilizing our ASA Dashboard, SAM. With SAM, we’re able to introduce MMP integrations, automations, rules and bulk management to take your Apple Search Ads to the next level.

If you’re just getting started with Search Ads or looking to take your campaigns to the next level, we’re here to help. Our goal is simple: to help you get the most out of your advertising budget while driving real results for your app.
