Apple Ads recently released a new beta bidding option called Maximize Conversions. For a platform that has always been on the simpler side compared to Google or Meta, this is a pretty meaningful upgrade. It shows that Apple is starting to move toward smarter, more automated ways of helping advertisers drive more installs.
Apple’s guidance explains that Maximize Conversions automatically adjusts bids to achieve the highest possible number of installs within a daily budget. In practice, this reduces the need for manual bid adjustments, improves spend efficiency, and provides more reliable delivery during periods of high demand.
Although Maximize Conversions improves bidding, it still optimizes only for installs and excludes any post install signals. Real success in mobile growth is determined by what users do after downloading, including subscription starts, purchases, account creation, trial completion, retention, and repeat engagement. Without visibility into these actions, the feature cannot support true performance outcomes, since the most important signals remain invisible to the system.
Maximize Conversions can increase installs, but it does not show which users will engage, subscribe, or provide long-term value. That’s where our Apple Ads Manager, SAM, makes a difference. SAM uses Apple’s API along with our own technology to make Apple Ads easier to manage and more effective. The interface is designed to clearly show important metrics, while bulk actions save time when creating or adjusting campaigns, ad groups, and keywords. Rules and automations can adjust bids, pause or enable ads, and optimize campaigns based on performance data automatically. Detailed reporting and MMP integrations give full visibility into ROI, LTV, and other key metrics, and keyword recommendations help make sure every install has the potential to drive real growth. Together with Maximize Conversions, SAM turns Apple Ads traffic into measurable results that matter.
